For years, S-Tec (now Cobham Avionics) has dominated the autopilot retrofit market with thousands of STC approvals, from Cessna 150s to Beech 1900s. But S-Tec isn't the only game in town. Century and Bendix King still build autopilots, too. There's also Avidyne's DFC90. DFC90 is a slide in replacement for STEC-55x. STEC30/50/60-2/65 series autopilots may also be replaced by a DFC90 under these STCs with additional installation changes. - S-Tec will not provide any information since they do not have a STC for a M20A. If anyone has any photos of a S-Tec System 30 or 50 installed in a M20B, C, D, or E it would be helpful. I have found a system out of an early M20E but there is no documentation.
